• Just how old will you need to be to skydive?

  Statesboro Skydiving wants to ensure our skydivers are old enough to make the decision to dive without adult consent, when they have become of legal adult age. For Georgia the legal adult age is eighteen.

• Is there a weight restriction for skydiving?

  Yes there is. For the security of each of our jumpers we require that ourclient's weight not surpass 240 pounds and that she or he is height and weight proportional.

SAFETY

• What kind of certifications do your instructors have?

  Statesboro Skydiving works only with the most certified trainers to ensure the safety of our clients. Becoming a skydiving trainer often involves years of education and thousands of jumps. He or she must gain a certification from the United States Parachute Association and know enough about the airplane and equipment being utilized during jumps to write a small novel on the topic. Rest assured, when you fly with us, you are soaring with the very best!

• Is skydiving really safe?

  Absolutely. Skydiving is extremely safe. Relatively speaking, skydiving is as safe and secure now as operating a car.   Fortunately for our skydivers, the parachute is a simple apparatus to manage with the snap of a finger. It also has an automatic activation device that releases the emergency parachute should you neglect to do so, and other issues will be addressed by the highly trained skydiving trainers that will be with you on the way down should you need them.

THE SKYDIVING ADVENTURE

• How much time can I expect the skydive to take?

  After an ascent up to 14,000 feet above the ground, you and your trainer will leave the airplane and freefall for a full 60 seconds at up to 120 mph!

• Will it feel bad when the parachute opens?

  Picture hopping feet first into a cool pond on a sunny summer day and you've got an idea of the feeling of launching your parachute. The jolt that you're expecting is more of a mental experience than a bodily one and lasts only a few seconds.
